The Birrarung Pools proposal includes the creation of a signature open air urban swimming pool, restored parkland and bicycle veloway on
the banks of the Yarra River in the heart of Melbourne. The development is supported by a range of innovative secondary programmes and
as a whole will extend the world-class cultural, sporting and social infrastructure available to tourists and inhabitants of the Melbourne CBD.

The project?s overall vision is to provide an integrated masterplan built around a sustainable whole-of precinct approach (SWOPA). In this system
the resources and waste products generated on site and by neighbouring properties will be exchanged between buildings and parkland, and be re-utilised
to provide a sustainable urban ecological framework.
